Rendezvous 2020/21 – Ladysmith Maritime Society Docks. Finally, we had another Rendezvous!! Originally, we had 23 boats registered, but that dropped down to 18 over the last year. A normal situation. However, due to mechanical problems and boat accidents (mine) that number further reduced to 14 boats. But, it was a very enthusiastic group, which more than made up for the reduced numbers. We followed our usual format other than we added one more day this year, which everyone agreed was the thing to do as it gave more time to visit and see the local area. We were also pleased to see several new members out for the first time. Thursday, most boats arrived and there was some impromptu visiting. Friday afternoon was the first event; a Q & A Session where members could ask other member about common issues. This went over well. Friday evening was a heavy appie social event so everyone had the chance to meet each other. Saturday was boat-visiting day. This is always very popular and it always amazes first time members when they see the variation of interiors that CCM made. While the main hull and superstructure were standard, the interior could be ordered on a custom basis if the purchaser wanted something different. – and many of them did. We had our short business meeting and then the door and other prizes. Saturday evening was our dinner, which consisted of BBQ beef, chicken, potatoes and salad, and desert. Socializing continued into the evening. Sunday morning it was a lot of goodby and see you next year.
